World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats improve in value. The value is the sum of all the leveled up benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be altered to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. The average item level can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can look at the item level. It's an indicator of the damage and its quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller can be done by using the item level.

The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full item description, including its ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the item level is determined. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula that calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It considers that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is usually close to Blizzard's real item level.

This is not the only factor that affects the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item dropped can also change its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game makes use of them in many ways to encourage players to not restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's skill.

The upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers will be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Another method to alter the stats on an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an Best item upgrade by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The affixes can provide the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.

All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade items window, pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other methods of rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which stats to be kept on an item when it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will include at least one stat in that range unless they are an item that is unique or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. But as with base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the chances of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a possibility to obtain better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more useful in the early game than in later ones, since most players prefer more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) for a further +40 luck, or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by 5%. These items are available in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chance of success or stop them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading the item, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing can't be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be obstructed by the overlays.
