    robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgThe Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgCheck your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.

    1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. They also come with a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to a dry one in just a few seconds.

    2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different flooring types including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically empties into its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

    3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes, this robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing some more volume and some additional cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

    iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features that will let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot vacuum with mop makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however this was not 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas are.

If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you have a lot furniture. Also the recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

    iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would think from its price. It's a pro at vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion robots that vacuum and mop is cleaner than the other robot vacuums best mop cleaners we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we've tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
