WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item upgrader kit has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item upgrade used for the upgrade item will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For example upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item upgrades from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other items. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item upgrader kit slot and current Item Level Upgrade level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones.
